How can you create big impact without spending vast sums of money?

When we were appointed to carry out the design for a new house our clients had built on the North Cornwall coast we knew we’d have to be clever with how we used the budget. The garden was reasonably large with 3m changes in level and every inch needing work. We focused on good multi stem trees to give a sense of scale, good paving that would weather well and a secondary layer of planting that was made up of  Pictorial Meadow turf, this would add depth to our planted banks and would be say to maintain while the rest of the garden established.
