How do you change the atmosphere of a garden through imaginative soft landscaping?

This project was almost a studio first, a flat garden is a rarity and it took a while to trust the simplicity of the plan.  We were keen to make sense of the geometry of the house in relation to the garden creating some strong but informal axis points.  This enabled us to then play liberally with informality using yew pilows that bounce across the lawn in a playful fashion and wide borders that snake across the back of the garden.
