How do you create a bendy garden?

We were asked by furniture maker Tom Raffield to work with him to create a garden for his trade stand at Chelsea Flower Show.  Our shared love of Cornwall gave us simple reference points that we understood intuitively and Tom allowed us to take his impulse and run with it.  Gnarly Cornus mas, Nothofagus and Sambucus helped join the architecture and planting with an understory of woodland natives that gave a lightness of touch and femininity that we loved.
